In addition to the external artificial liver system, StemBios intends to explore the albumin products market. According to a global blood plasma market report, the global plasma products demand and prices doubled over the period from 2000 to 2008.

While demand of these plasma products has risen rapidly, the increase in supply of these products has not kept pace. Our research has found that differentiated hepatocytes derived from our SB Cells^® can produce albumin (Figure 6). We can offer high quality albumin products to the domestic U.S. market as well as the overseas market including China, where demand is also rapidly growing.
